été
It’s been a year since I first spoke about this EP, and at long last, it’s here.
This EP offers a first glimpse into the structures emerging from my sonic research. Each track was recorded in a single take, performed as if live. While some layering is present, no overdubs were used—everything was captured in real time. Compression was captured as part of the initial performance, without further intervention, and post-production was kept deliberately minimal, limited to a light EQ on the master.
The title Été plays on the double meaning of the French word: it names the heat and fullness of summer, but also the past tense of to be — a state that once was. It captures both presence and what’s already gone.
